Practice register

Six areas of work. Each produces named artefacts — not promises about coverage.

The register below is a index, not the full specification. Each area has its own entry on the mandate page — what we deliver, what we ask of you, and how it connects to the other lines of work.

How a first briefing goes

  1. A call or meeting to understand the organisation, the audiences and what is not working in the current line.
  2. A short written brief back from us — scope, assumptions and what we would need to proceed.
  3. A conversation about format: discovery briefing, project, retainer or advisory, as described on our counsel page.
  4. A start date and a named lead from our side, with your decision-maker in the room for the first working session.

The conversation is bounded and useful on its own. You leave with a written brief-back whether or not we proceed — details on the counsel page.

We do not arrive with a credentials carousel or a pre-written proposal. The first session is listening: who speaks for the organisation today, where language has drifted, and which audiences are hearing different stories. That diagnosis is part of the deliverable, not a prelude to a sales conversation.

Contexts we work in

Anonymised categories. Qualitative outcomes only.

Regional technology · B2B

Launch season for a software firm: one narrative spine for press, investors, and internal staff — message map plus approval-ready pack.

Consumer goods · APAC

Portfolio shift across markets: a single external line after repositioning, with files handed to the in-house team.

Professional services

Cross-border partnership: executive statements and staff cascade aligned before the announcement date.

Issues · reputation

Regulatory review approaching: playbook, holding lines, and speaker rehearsal before coverage began.

These snapshots are anonymised and qualitative by design. We do not publish client names, logos, or coverage clippings. The contexts page describes the kind of situation that brought each category to us and what shifted in their public line after the work — always in words, never in metrics.

06

Working cadence

Work moves through five named phases — Listen, Assess, Draft, Align, Release — each producing documents you can circulate, not slide theatre. The sequence is the same whether you hire us for a sprint or a longer retainer.

Engagement formats

Four ways to engage — discovery briefing, project, retainer, advisory — each with named outputs and a clear end point. We explain who sits in the room and what we need from your side on the counsel page.

Referrals arrive from general counsel, communications directors, and founders who have seen our materials in a prior matter. Cold enquiries are welcome when the note is plain about the organisation and the problem — we reply with fit, capacity, and a suggested first step rather than a generic holding line.
